We recommend floating 1-4 times per month.
Ways to develop your float practice
- Find the best time for your floats. Set up recurring appointments. You may not always get it or want to do it at the same time, but it’s important to try out different times and see what works best for you and your schedule. Finding the right time will help make it easier to prioritize it on your calendar and allow us to book ahead your appointments to ensure you keep up the habit! Just ask our staff and we’ll happily set you up with future bookings or a recurring schedule.
- Try out different positions. The two most common positions for floating are to have your arms up above your head, which can help open up and stretch out your back and shoulders. Or you can keep your arms down by your side. Just be careful when moving your arms not to drip or get water in your eyes!
- Journal before or after your floats. Floating can provide an incredible opportunity for self-reflection, creativity, and problem-solving, so we highly encourage you to try journalling with your floats. Especially if there’s a specific problem you’re trying to work through, or a project you’re working on that needs that extra boost — think it through during your float, and you may be surprised at what you come up with! You can also use it to keep track of your progress or the benefits you’re receiving as you continue to go deeper into relaxation and bliss.
- Try stretching before, after, or during your floats. If you are dealing with pain, and tension or are quite active, you may find a lot of benefits from pairing up stretching sessions with your floats. You can even do different stretches while floating that are quite unique due to the lack of pressure on the body and the buoyancy of the water. Be careful not to do it too much or the temperature of the water can drop and make it harder to relax later on.
- Increase your frequency of floats to see how good it can get! If you have the ability to float more frequently than once per month, we highly recommend you give it a try early on because the benefits can be pretty profound as you do it more regularly. As you become consistent with your float practice, especially if it’s done more than once per month, you may find that your stress, anxiety, and pain levels start to find a new normal throughout your weeks at those lower states that you achieve right after a float session. Now imagine a whole year of feeling that great!
- Add on one of our other services with your float for even greater benefits. If you’ve been dealing with a more stressful time lately or want to pamper yourself even more, try adding in any of our other services as they can elevate the benefits of each other. Getting a float and massage is one of the most popular and as a member, you save 20% off all other services!
